Description
1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS Convertible Restomod!

This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro convertible is finished in metallic blue with silver stripes over black leather upholstery and is powered by a 6.0-liter LS2 V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and a Moser 9″ rear axle. The car is said to have been refurbished in 2020 by LC Classics of Tempe, Arizona.

The car was sold to its previous owner in 2021 and subsequently relocated to Colorado. The seller acquired the car in 2022 and it has been enjoying the big state of Texas ever since. This Camaro is offered with a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.

Restomod work consisted of refinishing the body, retrimming the interior, and replacing the drivetrain, brakes, and wheels. Features include an RS-style hood and headlight assemblies, staggered-diameter forged alloy wheels, Baer four-wheel disc brakes, front and rear spoilers, a black soft top, tinted windows, bolstered bucket seats, Vintage Air climate control, and Cobalt instrumentation. The body was said to have been refinished in metallic blue with silver stripes as part of the refurbishment which is said to have included removing the body from the frame.

Features include a black soft top and top boot, front and rear spoilers, tinted windows, fog lights, and an RS-style hood and headlight assembly. The glass is said to have been replaced during the refurbishment, but the current owner – wanting to update the mechanics of the window lifts and seals, updated those which caused the rear seat windows to be replaced again.

The forged alloy Boze Lateral-G wheels measure 18″ up front and 19″ in back and are fitted with Nitto NT555 Extreme ZR tires size 245/40 and 275/35, respectively. The car is equipped with power-assisted steering, and stopping power is provided by Baer four-wheel disc brakes featuring Hydroboost power assist.

The cabin features bolstered front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black leather and joined by a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include Vintage Air climate control, manual windows, lap belts, and carpeted floor mats. The ECU, diagnostic port, transmission controller, and fuse box have been relocated to the glovebox. The front seats, carpets, and upholstery were reportedly replaced during the refurbishment.

The three-spoke Billet Specialties steering wheel fronts Cobalt instrumentation that includes a 10k-rpm tachometer, a 160-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges for voltage, fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The instruments were replaced and the digital odometer shows 1,607 miles since completion of the refurbishment. Total mileage is unknown.

Additionally: Current owner noted that high-end speakers were installed during the refurbishment, but no head unit was put in, so that was rectified by the current owner with the installation of a Kicker CXA660.5 system, with a Kicker TCWC102 CompC 10″ Subwoofer in the trunk. Also, the car’s main battery and accessory battery, which are both new, are located in the trunk behind custom made/fitted covers.

The 6.0-liter LS2 V8 installed as part of the refurbishment features chrome accessories, a cold-air intake, and body-colored covers. A Be Cool aluminum radiator is installed. The engine reportedly produces 498hp.

The current owner improved upon the chrome accessories with the following changes:
New Chrome Master Cylinder
Bumpers, Door Handles, Windshield Wipers, all replaced with chrome.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 4L80E four-speed automatic transmission and a Moser 9″ rear axle. Tubular exhaust manifolds and a custom stainless-steel dual exhaust system with electric cut-outs (allowing exhaust mid-car as shown in the underside pictures) are installed. Check out the listing video to hear the difference between the muffler exhaust and the dumped-out exhaust!

The data plate decodes with the following information:
ST69 12467 – 1969 model year convertible
NOR111372 – Norwood Ohio assembly and build sequence
TR 711 – Black standard vinyl trim
50 B – Dover White paint with a Black soft top
03E – 3rd week of March build date
X11D80 – Style trim group with air spoiler

The car runs well, has a nice sounding rumble with the cut-outs sending exhaust through the mufflers, but gets downright throaty and mean sounding with the cut-outs open! Convertible works well. One or two of the snaps for the cover when the top is down are loose, but the cover is nice and tight and looks great. Custom interior in the trunk hides the batteries, convertible top when it is down, but makes it easy to remove if you need to do anything.
